EU Independent Fiscal Institutions Urge Safeguards for Independent Oversight in Finland's Public Finance Reform
The EU IFI Network comments on Finland's draft proposal (VN/33009/2023) to reorganize Independent Fiscal Institution (IFI) tasks between the NAOF and the EPC.
The Network strongly urges that this redistribution must not weaken independent oversight, reduce resources, or diminish functional autonomy. A key concern is the EPC's connection to the Finnish Ministry of Finance, which could compromise independence.
